Taped Up

First attempt using tape to make designs. The winner for tape nails, in my opinion and looking online goes to Nailside. I'm a little surprised my daughter let me use purple AND pink on her but it turned out nice.

Who knew - Nail Polish by Subscription

So one night while surfing nail blogs I found some this awesome sight called Julep.  So of course I had to sign-up.  Well my box came in the mail - FABULOUS!

There is something to be said for great packaging and for making me feel great.
The box had Julep on the side and then when I opened it my pretties were all in a great gift bag tied with a ribbon.  In side the bag was my polishes wrapped in tissue.
The polishes were Nail Therapy (Clear), Zoe (Bronze), and Samantha (Hot Pink).  Also included in the box was Facial for Hands (citrus smelling glycolic hand scrub) and some trial sizes of lotion.
Here is the Zoe...Love IT.

So use my email (meloalaska@gmail.com) when you sign up and I will get more free stuff for nails!!

Hope you enjoyed looking as much as I do wearing...or recieving!
You've be Nailed ... in Alaska!

She has the Whole Universe on her Hands

We rarely get a chance to see samples of Cat's nails - she spends most of Sunday morning painting and designing everyone else's nails.  This week I stuck around and kept her company as she did her own nails.  She had seen a YouTube video of painting the universe on nails using sponging.

She did a great job (as always).

Starting with two coats of - Ruby Kisses
She then sponged - Sinfulcolors - Snow Me White
Then around that sponged - OPI- Grand Central Carnation
Follow with sponging - Cosmetic arts - Mistletoe Kiss
Finally a layer of - NYC- Starry Silver Glitter

** On a side note - I cropped this picture not to show the callous showing up on Cat's finger.  This is from Cat stamping all of our nails... the burden she takes on for the rest of us.

Marbled Morgan

I love the idea of marbled nails, but when I tried the water method it was not only a 2 hour ordeal, it was a mess!! I saw this from Robin Moses and I had to give it a try. It's certainly not as good, but it's a good start. I'm not sure if it would work better on acrylic nails or not, but we go with what we have.

I think it looks classy and is perfect on my daughter's hands, as I have to brag--she wanted her Chemical Dependency Counseling Certificate I (CDCI) before she turned 21. She received the certificate on Friday--9 days before 21! Way to go.

Classy nails for the now certified counselor! Yes ma'am.
